We created this cheeky marketing campaign to advertise Hippo wipes, in one of our favourite projects to date. The objective was to stand out in a heavily saturated market. And to build awareness for the brand, among professional tradesmen in the UK.
– Comical Characters.
This marketing campaign was created primarily for Radio and supported by press, outdoor adverts and digital elements.
This would add value to the project by maximising impact and improving brand recall. So back came our comical characters, previously heard in earlier campaigns for Hippo PRO3 and Hippo Carpet Protector.
– Bigger Better Performance.
We developed our colourful characters around the premise of an over demanding customer and the toils of a downtrodden tradesman.
So by working with this format again, it allowed us to focus on the products key features. And to memorably tie them in, with the idea of getting jobs finished quickly and painlessly. Something all professional tradesmen benefit from. This could then be summed up with Hippos memorable tag line “Bigger Better Performance”.
The finished commercial has been regularly broadcast nationally on talkSPORT radio. At the time of writing, talkSPORT is the largest sports radio station in the UK. With a weekly audience greater than 3 million, their listener demographic is perfectly aligned to the building, decorating and DIY market. Because of this they were the perfect channel for Hippo to run this marketing campaign. Click the media player above to listen.
